The Objective

Enhance air quality

and reduce carbon emissions

The university has a goal to reduce its overall carbon footprint and improve indoor air quality to boost productivity in lecture theatres. Real-time occupancy level data is essential to achieve this in lecture theatres, due to the high turnover and variability in occupancy patterns. With appropriate automation, optimisation and management, the university can reduce energy wastage while improving internal air quality conditions.

SOLUTION

LightFi occupancy level sensors are uniquely designed for highly dynamic spaces such as lecture theatres. The BASE Pro sensors are able to detect % level occupancy immediately as the room is occupied. This led to lower CO2 levels during peak occupancy, while achieving energy savings when the space has low occupancy.
